What’s your next beauty buy? if you’re anything like me, you’ve been eyeing something you’ve wanted to try and just haven’t pulled the trigger yet!

I recently purchased Summer Fridays Overtime Mask. The most popular seems to be Jet Lag Mask but I decided on this one because I have combination skin and can easily break out. I love it because it’s a multitasker. It is both an exfoliant and a mask! What’s not to love?!

First Impressions

I like the packaging. Simple but pretty. The product itself has a nice texture to it. Typically, I prefer a chemical or enzymatic exfoliant over a gritty scrub (more on that in a future post), but this one combines pumpkin enzymes to gently digest dull skin cells trapped within the pore , while apricot kernel powder mechanically sloughs off what’s on the surface.

How to Use

Scrub as little or as much as you want for 60 seconds, then let it sit for an additional 10 before rinsing.

Reactions

My skin does tend to be a little pink when I’m finished, but it dissipates quickly so I think it’s safe to say its from increased circulation not irritation. My skin never feels tight or dry after this mask, unlike clay-based masks that can draw too much moisture from the skin. My skin immediately looks brighter and feels smooth after I use this mask, and it seems to do the trick to keep occasional breakouts at bay. (If I don’t exfoliate 2x a week, I pay for it.) I’ll definitely purchase this again!

It’s also nice to know that Summer Friday’s products are made in the USA, paraben free, sulfate free, cruelty free, gluten free, and artificial fragrance free (although it does have a lovely smell thanks to the ginger and cinnamon in the ingredients).
